It'll be interesting to see the price point since the Strike Eagle is around $300. Wonder how much this one will be?
I'm Guessing in the $400-600 range just like the current viper because I don't think
It's Chinese made.

On Facebook the vortex rep was saying it's closer to a razor then A StrikeEagle. 90% as bright as a razor too which is awesome! Might be the next hot ticket in 3-gun.

I was hoping it'd weigh a lot less but it's only 2.5oz lighter than the Razor.
Definitely looking forward to trying one out though.

I wasn't to excited to hear $999 msrp hopefully it ends up closer to $600 "street" price.

Sounds like it's going after the Leupold VX6. I expect $750-800.

Wellll ****!! and I just bought the Leupold VX6 with the CMR2 for Optics Planet. I sure wish I would have heard about this scope before I bought the Leupold. I have one Vortex's PST long range scopes and am really impressed with the glass and turrets on it.

MOA or MRAD--which is "best" for 3-gunning?
Previous to 3gun, I would have always tried to get a reticle that matches the dials on the scope. So, if you need to dial an adjustment, you measure your adjustment using the reticle and dial the exact elevation/windage in on your turret.

In 3gun, I'm relatively new, but I've never even considered adjusting a turret. However, some people maintain multiple zeros so it *might* make a difference if you do that.

For 3gun I'd say it depends on how busy you want the reticle to be vs. how many holdover lines you want to see. As I've been looking at buying one of these Vortex Scopes, my thinking process pointed me towards the MRAD reticle mostly because the holdovers tend to line up with 3gun distances a *little* closer.

I attached a screenshot on Strelok of what each of the VMR-2 reticles would have looked like in a 3gun match I shot last week at 543 yards shooting steel the size of an IPSC target.

So the MRAD holdovers for this ammo (Hornady 55g SP 3090 fps) are:
310 yards
413 yards
492 yards
559 yards
616 yards
665 yards
710 yards

If I had this reticle I'd memorize the holdovers as:
300
400
500
550
600
650
700

For the VMR-2 MOA my exact holders are:
329 yards
441
526
597
656
709

Those holdovers are further away from the normal 100/200/300/400/500 ranges I see most frequently.
memorizing them I'd probably do something like:
300
450
500
600
650
700

So for me the MRAD reticle would be easier to remember my holds.
