New to the site, and new to the sport

Trying to get into the sport and see what happens. From what I've heard from everybody I will probably start off with shooting steel plates and work my way into other competitions.

Steel Challenge Match is tomorrow (3rd Saturdays of the month) at the OKC gun club. Shooting Steel Plates, just like you said, It's a great place to start!

Is it really worth me changing the stock trigger out on the M&P 9mm L to an apex trigger. A lot of people are telling me that is going to be the first thing that I should do.
