Hey guys,
I was invited to come to the board and thought that I would introduce myself. I'm Jason and yes I'm not from Oklahoma, sorry. I'm close though if that helps you guys any. Anyhow, I'm an LEO and have been for about 5yrs, a member of our tac team for the last year or so. I've been an enthusiast for as far back as I can remember. Got into building custom guns, or at least customizing my own guns, at about the same time. I've built the last few rifles that I have aquired and so far so good. Found that I rather enjoy duracoating, bedding not so much! Getting better.

Anyhow, I'm really contemplating getting into some pistol and rifle matches. I'm gonna do some more exploring on this spring/summer. First question, where is the best places to shoot matches in OK. Second question, is ther a place that is in N.E. OK that a guy can shoot 600yds or more?
Thanks and I hope that I can contribute to your board in some meaningful manner. I appreciate the invitation to come over as well, Jason

I failed to look at your location before I started posting but USSA and Oil Capital both have great pistol, rifle, and shotgun or a combination of two or three gun matches. There is also a club up in Joplin, MO that I know has a USPSA pistol match for sure. I know there is a lot if debate about tactical shooting vs. competition shooting and competition shooting being bad for tactics because it trains you to do things that aren't good for life and death situations. I call bullshit on that crap! I shoot with several LE officers and BS forum members Mike Cyrus and Troy F. These guys are two of the top shooters and instructors and gunsmiths in the state. Get out to a match and hone your skills. It's a lot of fun too!

BS member and USSA instructor Steve Aryan is one of the top long range tactical shooters in the state. He told me that Red Castle gun club in Tulsa has at least a 600 yard range.

Welcome to the board! See you at a match.

I'll move this to the intro area now too.

good info, thanks jt. I'd like to get down to some in the Tulsa area as it's only about an hour and forty five minute drive, so it's the closest I think. I did see a couple in augusta and wichita area also. Little further drive, but maybe have to see what they offer too.
