new to competitive shooting

good afternoon, new to the site and competitive shoot, I'm located in moore oklahoma and I'd like to get into some comp pistol shooting. could someone point me in a direction where to get started, gear needed, ect. I'll be running a vickers glock 19 and a hk VP 40

Pick the gun you're most proficient with along with a holster and mag pouches and come to H&H tonight @ 6:00 to get your feet wet at the USPSA match.

There are plenty of guys you can chat with and get a good look at what everyone is using and hear what did and did not work in their quest for gear.

Best bet is to go to a match. You kinda have to jump in with both feet. I still haven't read the rule book. That time is better spent working on my grip.

I see people talking about limited and stuff like that, I'm unsure on the class I'd be shooting or how many mags and rounds I'd need ect ect.

Just grab a gun and mags and show up. They'll get you set up. I just stuffed mags in my back pockets for my first few matches.

There are probably some YouTube videos that help, but showing up at a match is what helped me.
