Hi all, found this forum by accident. Already seen a ton of great information including local match info. Never knew there were events so close to me. Have yet to attend a match but looking forward to going.

Welcome to the party! There are a bunch of great shooters in your neck of the woods. Jeremy Moore, James Darby, Aaron Butler, Ting Sung, Dave Teel. You can get ahold of most of them via the Shooters Source. Great place to get geared up as well. Holler if you need help getting started shooting some matches which we recommend doing sooner than later.
 
I just saw the one in cresson. That looks great. I need to pickup and AR though. The only person I really know in the area is Andrew Brady.
 
Cross timbers runs all kinds of matches at Cresson. That will be a world class facility with 14 bays when it's done.

What do you want to shoot? I can point you in the right direction. I just moved from downtown FTW to Houston.
 
Lots of pistol options. USPSA & IDPA are your options. Check out Cresson range for matches there of both flavor, Double Tap runs USPSA on the 1st Saturday. Johnson County also runs a match on the 1st Saturday. Cresson though is your best bet from a distance standpoint. About 30 min from downtown to the range.
 
I actually live in granbury so cresson is maybe 15 mins away. Looks like a great place. Thx for all the info. Ill follow up whenever I finally get out there.
 
welcome! I'm a newbie to competitive shooting myself but have done the 3 gun match at Cresson twice now, and 3MR once. Come to the Cresson match on March 23 and I'll let you use one of my AR's. You just need to bring the ammo (and not Tula!)

Well you know half of the good people in FtW. Have Andrew give you my number I will get you set up for shooting matches with Cross Timbers

I have extra rifles and gear I can bring to the matches until you get all of your gear ordered from Jeremy(The Shooters Source) Moore. Just bring ammo and you are good to go. Welcome aboard.
