Hello all, I'm officially registered, I'm drifting over from OSA. I would like to get into some shooting matches, I like the idea of all the shooting platforms of 3 gun matches. I only have off one weekend a month, so I will have limited time to go to matches. Thanks for having me, and maybe I'll see you on the firing line!

Thanks everyone, I've looked over the 3 gun intro that was pinned, and all the talk about hot rod guns has me wondering what can I get into as a starter with just plain'ol factory firearms? I wanna do more than just pistol shoots and bench rifle shooting, no offense to anyone that does that. I guess what I'm asking is, can I compete with regular stuff and average cost factory ammo, and NOT embarrass myself???

I shoot what I want, when I can and have fun doing it. Will I ever beat guys like Pat Kelley, Jesse, Kurt Miller, I don't think so but I have fun and don't care what anybody thinks of my shooting as long as I am safe. So to answer your question yes, you can shoot bargain basement guns and ammo and still have fun. Will you win, NO but if you only shoot one match a month you will never get good enough to win no matter what you shoot.

lots of guys with hot hod gear don't win, so bring what you have with the goal of having fun.
There's quite a few guys at every match with off the shelf guns, you'll be fine.

Ask to shoot people's setup so you can get an idea of what works for you & doesn't before you start making any changes.

Once you get a few matches in and figure what direction you want to go in equipment wise. Hit up Tonys website and hell get you squared away.
 
Everyone starts with the regular guns they have in the safe and many stick with those for the long term. Like any other activity there is always better tools for the trade. So after shooting a match or six then decide if you want guns or gear that are more "purpose" built for the game. No matter what you run you will have fun! If you need any help or guns/gear to get started let us know. We are always happy to help get a new shooter started.
