Random rant.
Now that the STI/SVI patent has expired, there will be a few new 2011 style guns hitting the market.
The FGW frame is the first new one that I've seen, and it looks pretty cool for frame-up builds.
But Eagle Imports is bringing a couple of things to the table...SPS, and Mac3011.
SPS has been building 2011 modular high cap guns in Europe for awhile but didnt sell them in the US.
Now they are...but they are kinda clueless...Their 'Pantera' model is touted as a Limited gun, but in .45 and 12 rounds I dont see it as a contender.
Today in the Shooting Wire, they announced their new MAC 3011 "Competition Ready" models.
These look like Para/Caspian type guns. Again in .45, 14 rounds. I wonder what "Competition" they think they are ready for. They wouldnt be legal in any division of IDPA, and wouldnt be competitive in USPSA except the dying L-10 division. Even at that, .45 is getting rare in matches.
