new indoor range opening soon in Greenville???

Hey guys, just discovered they're building a new indoor range in Greenville! Why wasn't I told about this!? Let's hope they're more spacious and friendly than Allen Arms.

wow I'm really behind in the times then! to my defense, it's on the opposite side of Greenville than me. I used to live a couple minutes from there but now I'll have to make a little drive to check it out. Let's hope its worth it.

From all the info on their website it definatley looks like it will be very nice. From their updates on Facebook, there's just been a lot of typical governmental hassles with permits and plan reviews and such. They've been working mostly on the interior and haven't really done much outside yet.

I have been inside, huge undertaking but it will be worth it, will put Allen Arms and their horrible business practices to shame.

I noticed on their site, under Range rules, that it says NO STEEL CASED AMMO and NO MILITARY SURPLUS AMMO. That's a shame.

I just hope they're not going to be stuck on the 3 seconds between shots type rules like a few around here. At least at Allen Arms they aren't all freaked out if you take two shots right after each other. IUf you want to unload a mag one shot after another it's all good. I've never had a negative experience at Allen Arms so can't identify with some of the complaints some have.

pardon my ignorance, but why would a range ban steel cased and mil surp ammo??? not everyone can afford new-man'd brass ammo... Or are they trying to keep us poor folks out?

More likely trying to keep AP or steel jacketed ammo out.

SC DHEC regulations make it very expensive for new indoor ranges to get going. Takes several years of legal wrangling and a very expensive HEPA air filtration system for inside the building and another for the exhaust systems. One way to save upstart/operating cost is reduce the size/type of HEPA system needed, good way to do this is not allow the more toxic ammo ex: corrosive, mil surp, exposed lead, zinc and acrylic painted steel case. It also saves on long term liability insurance to not allow those types of ammo, keeps the lawyers happy.

Never had a problem at Allen Arms, staff was very friendly and willing to help anytime I've been in there, it just get's crowded since there aren't lot of places to shoot in Greenville. This place will be a bit closer to my home so that's good.
