Finally got the Glock 19 I have been looking for for a while. Gen 3 and it doesn't look like it has been shot at all. Trijicon night sights, 3.5 lb connector. I haven't seen these sights before but they are black rear (except for the vial) and a white dot front

The best part is the guy who had it was about 2 miles from my house. I was just about to drive to Tulsa to get one for more money and not as nice. I will shoot it at 3-gun tomorrow for a test run and then put it in service as my carry gun. WhooHoo

And this was just a bonus

Congradulations on the 19. They are generally sweet shooters. A 3.5 trigger is way to lite for me, but then I don't shoot competition.

DavidU2, try it sometime to see how good and bad you are at the different positions while shooting on the clock.
It sounds like fun and I've watched a lot of guys shooting competition. Sad to say, my days for trying that are long gone. I'm not much on speed or different positions. I was in a bad car accident years ago that messed up my back. That along with being over weight due to not being able to exercise and the arthritis that comes with age in my knees, ankles and wrists limits me on 'different positions' and movement. If I get knocked off my feet, I would have a very difficult time getting back up without my cane or someone to help me. I'd be pretty much a turtle on his back for a few minutes.

I'm one of those old guys that ain't gonna be able to run from trouble which means I will have to stand my ground and I ain't gonna try to wrestle some punk if he threatens me with a deadly weapon or even attempts to give me a vicious beat down. I'll have to shoot him. One of the reasons I choose to open carry. I want bad guys to know right up front that I'm a old rattlesnake best left alone and that they might get me, but they better do it quick or they will darn sure pay a very high price for the attempt. It has worked out well for me. I've always been treated civily and I treat others the same way. I don't worry about all the hype the anti-OC guys say about someone being targeted first if they OC. I'm of the mind set that if a bad guy sees someone wearing a gun, he will most likely wait for a better opportunity. And if someone does come into a place I'm at with their gun drawn, then I won't have to bother with getting my shirt out of the way while drawing. My view is let people carry anyway they want too so long as they are carrying legally.

Instead of a lite trigger, I opted for a CT laser. It might be splitting hairs, but my thought is due to my health issues, getting on target quicker.. especially from the waist level and not having to bring the gun up to eye level in order to aim is about as good as being able to get the gun up to use the iron sights and having a lighter / faster trigger pull.

Side note- I had a very pleasant experience while out eating the other night. I had gone to a local place that sells good food, but also a lot of liquor & beer. Not knowing if the ratio of food sold exceeded the amount of alcohol [which would make it legal to carry inside] I had always left my OC Glock 27 in the car and slipped a LCP into my pocket. I was still wearing my empty CQC Blackhawk holster on my belt. After our meal and as we were leaving through the back door, I ran into the owner of the place as he was coming in. We got to talking and he noticed my empty holster. He asked why I wasn't carrying my gun. I told him I wasn't sure if it would be legal and I didn't want to cause him any heart burn by my wearing it into his place. He said to wear it. It didn't bother him at all and that he sold more food than alcohol.. so to just wear it in OC as I usually carried it.
