Need a little Help

Recently went thru a nasty divorce. I kept most of my toys but need to figure out what some of this is worth now. Most of this is pretty easy except this one.

If anyone can help me with a value for this pistol I would really appreciate it.

Here is what I know. Manufacture date is 1945. I have owned it for about 10 years.

Do some homework. It's a 1911 A1 warhorse made in 1945 not a 1917 or 1918 1911.

Your Colt, or hers?
It's worth something. That is for sure.
Before returning, or selling, just a casual thought from me…
There is a possibility someone might have carried that pistol in harm's way; it might have saved someone's life.
You might want to carefully peek under the grip panels to see if anything was left (personalized) on the back sides of those slabs.
Proper screwdriver, and careful rotation. Hopefully the bushings stay put.
Just a thought on a piece of history that you have held and shown to the world.
