need a little help with shotgun

ive got a great AI shotgun and have gotten it fit to me perfectly, ive gotten great advice from brian enos and mike cyrwus and i can really run it fast sometimes but a lot of times im still very deliberate with it on static targets, none of this is my problem... i can deal with a little slower deliberate shooting at times if im not missing...

the problem i seem to be having (especially on longer shotgun stages) is that at some point i stop using the sights and start shooting with my head off the gun almost.... what can i do about this problem... ill take any advice or tips i can get...

just to add, ive done a lot of quality dryfire and mounting of the gun but this just seems to all go after the buzzer... not having a problem watching the dot or sights on my rifle or pistol...

thats all ive been able to come up with, ive been trying to do quality practice and not just burn rounds but i have shot A LOT of rounds in the last two months... maybe i need to see some type of sports psychologist lol about staying focused in the middle of a stage and not letting my mind drift....

Really though, I have the same problem sometimes and I don't realize I'm doing it. Mr. Miller pointed it out to me one time when I was squadded with him, so now I try to concentrate on sticking my cheek to the stock and so far it's helped me out with what little bit I've been able to shoot this year.

you came up with any drills or anything to help ingrain this in the mind.... i was actually thinking i could tape a pipe or toilet paper roll or something to my receiver to force me to look through it to see the front sight.... i wonder if putting a rear sight on would help me to treat it more like my pistol sights....
 
I just tell myself over and over to stick to the stock, reload here, stick to the stock, reload here, miss that flying clay, stick to the stock.
 
I do the same elephant dung. If I miss a target its usually my cue to crush my face down. I dropped my stock down and added a comb which helped out.
 
You might look into the easy hit sight. I think Champion makes it. Tom Knapp was pretty high on it. It is basically a fiber optic front site that sticks to the rib on your shotgun. It has a length of tubing in front of the pipe so you can't see the dot unless your head is on the stock. I have put it on a couple of shotguns that my wife uses and it seems to help.
 
flexibility and stance are a big thing too. Gondo, if you havent taken a good pistol class yet, find some time and get edumacated right. It might be a little suprising to hear me say that, but the fundamentals are universal. Grip, sight alignment, trigger control, follow through,stance
