Guys,

Retired Navy Chief Newby

Newby just found this site and just checking in. It looks to be an awesome 2nd Amendment site with likeminded people. As you can tell by my userid I am a Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer called it quits last year after 23 years. I was a Communication Chief on the Navy's Tacamo platform at Tinker AFB

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TACAMO had over 4,000 hours on the mighty E-6.

My wife and I are very active Cowboy action shooters and shoot at the OKC club in Arcadia and down in Grandfield with the shortgrass rangers. Hope to meet other folks on here.

I am also the official promoter for a brand new Gun Show http://badshot-gunshow.com/ down here in Chickasha 1st show is next month June 23rd & 24th at the Grady County Fairgrounds

A-hoy Chief,

Take a load off, pull up a chair and sit for a spell.

Would be interesting to see the gun show, but those are the same dates as the High Plains match.

Thanks for your service and welcome to the party! It's good to see a cowboy action shooter join us. I wondered where all y'all were hiding at. I know that Shootibg sport is one of the most popular out there but I never see anything about it in any of the forums. If you need anything added to the forum to accommodate the SASS info don't hesitate to let us know what you need. We would love to help you out with growing that sport any way we can.

Thanks for the welcome.

My sass Alias is Chavez Y Chavez after the real New Mexico Outlaw since I was born and raised in New Mexico. My wifes Alias is Trippin Triggers.

And my hiccup at End of Trail 2010. I still managed to shoot the entire match clean and earned a White Buffalo pin and a trophy buckle for top 10 in my category Classic Cowboy:

That is the proper way to handle a malfunction. Gun falls apart on the clock put it back together and keep shooting.

Damn that's the best malfunction I have ever seen!!! Way to fight through it!!!

Talk about the wheels falling off, Wow!!!
When that happens, which portion of the firearm has to remain pointed down range?

I agree with JT, way to fight through it. I think I might have pooped my pants.

Lol! All you can do is laugh about a deal like that. We shot a major 3 gun match with the host of a prominent 3 Gun TV show this past weekend. Half way through the rifle portion of a stage he started missing a bunch and eventually his scope fell off his rifle. He looked down at it then looked up at the RO and just laughed. It was priceless! Makes a good story for the rest of your life.

Welcome Chief. Thanks for your service. Ex - AC2 Scott here. I joined a year after you, Jun90-Jun95.

Good to see a SASS shooter on here!! Nice shooting! And best malfunction video ever!
