Mystery Mag

This mystery magazine has an opening on the bottom and the top.
Maybe it is technically a clip?

Has no markings other than 308 and .243

Anyone know what rifle it fits?

It looks very, very similar to my 30-06 Remington model 742 magazine, just missing the bottom plate maybe? Only holds 4 rounds or so?

I am thinking it's out of a Remington semi auto also. 740, 742. They had a pump rifle that used the same mags if I remember correctly

I think thats a Glock 95 mag. I'm not positive though.

Maybe a Winchester 88 or 100, missing the bottom plate. They came in .243 and .308 and I believe this is the .243 insert in the back. Remove that and find a base plate and you have a magazine for the .308.

Ex Sniper, you called it. I looked it up and it is indeed a model 88 magazine that is missing the baseplate. Thanks for your help.

Yep it sure for an 88/100 except the spacer isn't for 243. .243 is just a 308 case necked down to 243. and the LENGTH is IDENTICAL for case OAL and loaded cartridge length. Spacer is there because Winchester, at the time, was also thinking to make it in 30-06. KurtM
