Here is a pic of one of my yard guests that has been getting his pic taken for the last few days!

Being from Kansas, I had been a little miffed as to why I havent been seeing quality deer since I'v e moved to ok. I always thought with all the cover this area has to offer that there was no reason why there should'nt be quality deer in the area. Last few days have changed my views......EnjoyView attachment 1423View attachment 1424View attachment 1425View attachment 1426

Those are nice bucks man! Hopefully you will get a good shot at one of them.

NICE! Looks like the one I missed on my first day ever to deer hunt! Hopefull we'll see better pics of them this fall, you know, pics with you and your rifle behind them. :))

I don't know about OKC, but years ago, I killed my first deer (doe) with a bow within the city limits of Ponca. I know they have bow hunts in Arcadia, so it may be possible.
I'd check with the OKC Game warden first.

You can find their personal cell phone numbers at:

These are more pets than anything else! I like to think of them as on the hoof shtf emergency rations: i still go to kansas for big muleys every nov. For spot and stalk with my bow......Time is gettin' close.

I understand what your saying. We live in the sticks, and I'm an avid deer hunter.
My wife feeds them, and turkey all winter right in front of our windows, so in the morning and evenings we may have anywhere from 5-15 deer in the front yard, while we are watching.
They are yard deer, and off limits, If I know what is good for me....as my wife says. :D

From the front window....

Dude I hunted years before the Wal-Mart was built at Reno and MacArthur with a bow, the law knew about it as I called to double check with them and hunted dove behind the 7-11 there on MacArthur by the river just 3 years ago and yes the law knew about that also as I kept them knowing what I was doing at first then they got to know me and all was golden. CCI CB longs are very quiet from a bolt rifle just sayin' LOL Later,

Kirk

I have a hunting spot at 122nd and Kelly right by the turnpike it is totally legal to bow hunt in the city limits, and It has a bunch of deer in there and some big ones. Lots of turkey to. One of the guys at kings pawn and gun hunts right next to me and he got a 13 pointer out of there!

I've read some articles in outdoor mags about how big the urban deer are. Good food sources, plenty of water, and low hunting pressure.

Shees!!! We should all be so lucky. I am usually grateful to just see a yearling fawn. LOL.

We have a pond about 100 yds from the front door. Due to the lack of rain for the past six months, it has just about went dry. Last week I started filling an old lick tub full of clean, fresh water every morning. Now, at just about any given time, you can find 3 does and 5 young ins hanging around the water bucket. It's to the point now that my golden retriever doesn't even pay them any attention. I never thought I'd be able to attract deer with a water bucket...

Water....water........water..... Thats the secret.......if we stay in these dry conditions just remember everything needs Water!

My son wants to hunt from his bedroom window. Second floor room and nothing to block a good shot. We had 11 in the yard a couple weeks ago. I would definitely hang a tree stand for those big guys.
