Well I'm just having a great deer season. Best I have had in years. I killed a cow horn buck tonight and managed to piss off 15 dog hunters!!! Life is great!
Got to the property at 4:45...In the stand at 4:55....Here the dogs jump a deer right behind my stand at 4:56......Cow horn buck runs 20 feet in front of my stand at 4:57 and I shot him. Funny part was I had Clayton's gun and the scope was on 9 power. It happened so fast I I didnt have time to turn it down. All I could see through the scope was brown blur so I pulled the trigger. Didn't know if I was aiming at the but or head. He kept on going into the woods so I thought I had missed. The dogs came through 20 sec later and went into the woods on the other side of the power line and started baying. I knew it was dead at that point. I was out of the stand at 5:00. Went in and pulled him out. loaded up the deer, Rode out to the road and told the dog hunters "thanks for trespassing..I got the deer your dogs were chasing on my property" They were pissed and I drove to the processor and back at home by 6:30.....
My luck is bound to run out sooner or later cause there can't be that many deer near my stand. Going tomorrow evening too. Anybody want the deer if I shoot it. It will cost you $75 to get the basic processing. I have an easy $450 in processing fees already in the last week So now I plan to give anything else away..
