Joe refit the barrel, bushing added his trigger group to it along with his hammer.Joe also added his sights to it and blended in the front. Then Lou dehorned it and cleaned it up after Chuck added his golf balling tobthe front strap and rear. Lou finished it up with his I believe Ceracoat.

That's really cool. A great collaboration and Lou's Cerakote is the best in the business.

Way back in the day, I won an early raffle on 1911 addicts and that was the prize. The gun is now a family heirloom that gets shot a lot.

Sorry, I only see that bad ass looking rifle. There are other guns in the picture?:D

Lol just a couple. Thnx! That was my unicorn since I was a kid. A buddy made me a deal I couldn't say no too. Just waiting for my Deadair Sandman K for it.

The family has grown by one. And took a few to play the other day.

Though I don't have the same # of S/A, we do have a number in common.
I also have a Scout Squad M1A., & one of my favorite 1911's in 45 acp , which started as a Springfield GI model.
It was my 2nd 1911, bought shortly after my 1st (a Series 80 Gold Cup). The GC was the most expensive pistol I'd purchased,
I was reluctant to put more $ into it, so I bought the less expensive S/A GI model, to modify it to my liking.

The work was done by Terry Tussey, ( who was in the LA area back then, mid '80's ) .. He installed adjustable Millet sights, did trigger work,
barrel / bushing fitted, & entire pistol hard chromed , this was before SS 1911's were available.Tussey Springfield.JPG

My other S/A is a Springfield Loaded Target, a Govt. sized 1911 in 9mm. Had the front strap checkered , top of slide milled flat,
& trigger job , all done locally by 1911 specialist, ( of Acc-U-Rail fame ) Doug Jones.

though I have a selection of 1911's to choose from, I do shoot these 2 the most..
