My new 3-gun pistol

Desert Eagles are awesome in every regard except the location of the safety, and they're impractical outside of handgun hunting. Are they worth $1400+ in shootable value? Yes, if you can afford to shoot magnum bullets often, and a match-grade magnum-power autoloader is the stuff dreams are made of. Tons of fun. But resale = losing money. What really sucked was that to reload at full power you have to use a jacketed bullet. They'll hang up and fail to go into battery at the end of the cycle if you aren't using full-power loads.

I almost bought a .44 automag in the 90's went back week later I just couldn't do it, went back next day it was gone. Clint Eastwood in Sudden Impact just made it look so cool. I have not seen one in years.

its an awesome gun to shoot, but a pain in the ass to maintain.
Brass has to be fire formed, etc....... But it is cool at the range, and thats what its all about! :D

Just as an aside, FPSRussia is some kid from Georgia (the state, not the country) who used to do gamer (videogames, not USPSA) videos on YouTube under the name FPSKyle. The accent is fake.

When they first came out I saw a guy shooting at the range so like any small town redneck I had to go check it out, damn heavy BUT I found out why! he's like wanna shot a few rounds? I said bears elephant dung in the woods don't they? he's like yes (he was not a small town country redneck lol) I fired one round and gave it back as that sucker kicked a touch and nothing I'd really want so I said thanks and walked away. When Smith came out with the 500SW that was something I could have seen me getting but well a touch out of my budget! then the 460SW came out and that is a pistol I could actually see a use for. One of those pistols for me, probably never as I have a thing for buying things for a reason. Later,

Kirk

Those .50 guns are made right over here in Arkansas, by a guy that often shoots our matches.

As for the Desert Eagle, well I've been seen on TV shooting the pellet gun version, I call it the Dessert Eagle.

I've always thought those 50 cal desert eagles were such a stupid waste of money. Why in the hell would you buy a guy like that other than to show your friends? Give me a good 1911 or Glock any day.

.50ae is a pretty serious round. I would imagine they make for good large game guns.

the .50gi is not as powerful as the .50ae its more like the .45acp with a bigger hole. From what I understand anyway. Wouldn't mind trying one out. I imagine they make good hog gun backups.

Shooting hogs or elephants are the only reason I can think to buy one of those things. lol
