Well, the time has come when I want to try my hand at this PCC stuff. I normally shoot my M&P in Limited but it looks like a blast to shoot PCC at USPSA. I pretty much have everything ordered and now I'm just waiting for everything to arrive this week so I can put it together. So I figured I would share my build if anyone cares. Here's what is in the mail so far:

-JP Supermatch Barrel
-JP Bolt
-JP SCS 9mm buffer
-KVP linear comp
-ACE ARFX Skeleton Stock
-DPMS Slick Side stripped upper
-Nordic Components Free Float Handgaurd
-PSA Glock Lower - I know, I know, should have went with QC10 but I'm hoping I get one of the good ones from PSA since it's always a gamble with them.
-Standard Charging Handle
-33rd and 17rd mags - Believe it or not, I don't own a glock pistol so I had to buy new mags.

Parts that are still up in the air:
Trigger - I'm going to try and see if my 3.5# CMC drop in trigger will work with the bolt but I've been seeing that some aftermarket triggers are touchy with 9MM builds. Any suggestions that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
Optic - I'm planning on a red dot but I haven't decided on which one quite yet.
Grip - I have big hands and I'm leaning towards an Ergo grip.

With the PSA lower, did you make sure it's not one that's proprietary to their uppers?

For the trigger, I use a black rain 3.5lb in mine and it runs all day. I've also heard that Timney triggers work well.
Optic, I use a Vortex Sparc II but I've seen others use C-More sights and Eotech.

You might have issues using the JP bolt in the dpms upper with the PSA lower. Not gonna say it won't work, but PSA receivers are designed to work with PSA bolts and they are finicky even then.

PSA says all of their lowers "must" be used with their hybrid uppers. I couldn't find a ton of info on what makes them proprietary and wouldn't accept a different upper/bolt. I guess we'll find out and see if it's true or just "marketing" from PSA.

I'm going to give it a college try at least! :)

The original JP trigger with yellow springs and a cheap lower parts kit mil spec hammer has worked 100% for me with JP bolt. It's just a little over$100 I think.

Shoot yeah, try whatever combination you want. Hell it just may work better. I'm not trying to talk you out of anything.

I bought a Scorpion.

elephant dung runs like a striped-ass ape.

Reloads fast like a pistol.

Affordable, durable mags up to 40+1.

Ergos beat the AR platform hands down.

Good luck to you guys.
Did you get the carbine? Or SBR one of the pistols?

I'd like to check it out sometime. I'm wanting to get on the PCC train, but not sure if I want to build or buy and all that stuff.

This Scorpion carbine is really sweet looking. And it must shoot pretty well too, cause he won the match with it. WITH IRONS, no less

Micah is a pimp though

Y'all can see it or shoot it any time. Just bring some 9mm. If it helps you make an informed purchase or just have fun, that's cool.

It's the Carbine with the fake-ass suppressor. It fits me pretty good.

Sweet! I'll bring adult beverages to cover the rental fee.

A few suggestions:
Trigger- I've been using a Hiperfire 24c in my PCC and really like it. It has been 100% for the 300rds I've put through the rifle (new build) with the same operating system you're using. With a discount code at Optics Planet I was able to get the trigger for $188 shipped.
Optic- I've got a Vortex Spitfire AR 1x on my PCC, and have Aimpoint H1s to compare it to. I feel like the reticle of the vortex is easier to pick up, and the etched reticle is more crisp for my eyes.
Grip- I, too, have big hands. I have the Ergo on my main 3G rifle, and tried the Magpul K2+ on my PCC. I really like the angle of the K2 better and will likely be putting one on all my rifles.
Charging handle- I'd recommend a charging handle with a larger latch, the heavier sprung SCS is easier to overcome with an oversized latch and handle.
