Don't have a pic of mine, go figure I sold it, like I always do.
However, mine was a MC Operator

Never handled or shot one. Heard good things

I believe I bought mine in 2006. For the time, and my pistol experience level, the Loaded model was
like acquiring an old big block Chevelle. One hell of a performer, and I paid $629 for it. I've aleays been a Springfield fan due to my ties back to the REAL Springfield Armory and the M1 Garand, a true masterpiece of a weapon.

Springfield, like many other companies, has recently dabbled into politics, they will have a black eye for a while over this last stunt.

Congrats on a good choice. I've got a couple (older1980's) Defenders and they shoot great. I'm a fan..

My first was a Colt 1911. Unfortunately, no pictures & she's long down the road...
Me too. It was a great shooter but the front sight kept throwing itself down range. Got tired of sending it back to Colt so I traded it for a Sig 229.

Certainly not a 1911, but my first purchase. I bought it from a friend in High School who had field stripped it, and couldn't reassemble it. I bought a brown lunch bag full of parts for $10.00. I took it to a gun shop and had them reassemble it for me. Still have the old girl today. 1912 Hungarian Officers Pistol 32 ACP.
