I am very new to the 3 gun but have shot matches all my life, last Sat we had a 3gun here at our club. Recently I have had eye problems and got my 1st real glasses, was I surprised. The pistol targets were plates and paper both shot from a crouch through a series of barrels, there was not a comfortable way to shoot these, I dropped 5 points here, then to a series of windows with a carbine 60 rounds with the closest target being 50 yds to 70 or so. We shot 2 to the body and 1 head shot on each, I could see!!! the sights for a change and shot it clean with 0 points down, then we advanced to the shotgun stages where I used my Mountain Man Caddies which are great. We had 2 clay targets, 2 poppers and 2 rows of plates, I had 0 points down here too, for a total of 5 down on the whole match. I was very pleased, I won 2nd and as a sidenote the winner had 45 points down!!!, he just shoots very fast and lots of ammo down range.
We had a lunch of wings and pizza included in the match and shot it again! The 1st time I shot a Glock 17, the 2nd time a Para Ord P14 45acp. I shot the match clean 0 down and was only 2 sec difference in the 2. I got 2nd here also. 2 seconds difference in the 2 runs total.
Pardon me for the post but it made me feel good about the match.
I shot a Glock 2nd gen 17- Rock River AR with EOTech-FNSLP which had been 100% since day 1-Para Ord P14--------
