My hat is off to all of you, You boys in white, green and blue.

Those stars and stripes I once did serve, Backbone of steel I had the nerve
To stand before some mad desire, to see our homes and flag on fire.

I did my part I'm proud of that but now I'm old and getting fat.
I gave some but to those who gave all, I see your face when Freedom calls.
I hold you high up in my prayers, who God alone with me shares.

My hat is off to all of you, who put the red in Red White and Blue.

Thank you for your sacrifice. May God give your families comfort and peace.

Yep, it seems a lot of people forget what Memorial day is for.
This country didn't become the greatest nation on earth because of tree huggers or politicians.
It got here from the blood that those in the military have shed defending it.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

I am a disabled veteran I left the service about 6 years ago and only in the past 2 years I have had people thank me for my service which it is great to know that people care, but there is something I don't see many other vets do and that is thank the American people who stand behind them. Without the American people who support and I mean really support the men and women who are fighting and some losing their lives for this great nation I call home it would all be senseless without you so I thank all of you true Americans who took the time to shake my hand and give me thanks for opportunity to defend this country and it's people weather they are grateful or not.

The most humbling Memorial Day service I have ever been apart of was in Iraq. It really puts things into perspective when they read off names of your fellow Marines who were killed just weeks and days before. Semper Fidelis to those who gave their lives for us.
