Sold/Expired MAUSER 98 action

I am interested in finding a mauser 98 unaltered large ring action, CHEEP I'm a gunsmith student at Murray state and need one for next semester to start a project build for class. Probably be a couple weeks before I have any money, these things are getting expensive.

Might look at one of the M48 actions, a little shorter than a VZ but they make fine rifles. And yes they have gone up in price! I have a couple that we have put together, a VZ, Turk, and M48 all have turned out great rifles.

All you can really do is keep your eyes open in the classifieds, I used to be able to purchase then with broken stocks for dirt cheap but those days are gone. Good school your in and good luck with your build be sure and show us some pics and just a hint case color ;-) Later,

Thanks Kirt, wish I could use something else but John only wants large ring 98's. ya I like case colors, think it will have rust bluing and temper colors.

M48 is a large ring ;-) just 1/2" shorter than a VZ24. Good luck if your after a VZ24 action dude! Later,
