Matchsaver on Stoeger M3000?

I've picked up my 24-inch M3000, and added a +8 Nordic tube and an MOA oversized safety and charging handle. I've also ordered an aftermarket follower that I hope will help with the little bit of a sticky feeling I have when loading. I still haven't opened the loading port any, but plan to do that soon if it runs as good the next time or two out as I expect it to (I've only shot a couple of boxes of shells through it so far). I was just wondering if anyone has mounted a matchsaver on their M3000, and if so, if there is any difficulty in doing so. I never had one on my JM 930, but am thinking I might put one on this gun if it's not ton of trouble.

Any feedback would sure be appreciated. I hope to have this gun up and ready to go in the next few weeks.

Can you post a pic of the inside of the handguard? It depends on how that is shaped.
 
I'll try that, Jesse. It is just kind of a rough feeling right where the original mag tube attaches to the extended tube. Do you also use some graphite on the outside of the original tube?

BTW, I'll shoot a pic and post soon if I can figure out how. Dennis tried to help me once but I never followed up on that help.
 
I think I finally might have conquered this picture posting deal. The hand guard is pretty much flat and smooth inside. Hopefully these pics are good enough for you to tell something, Mitch Gibson.
Jesse, I got an aftermarket follower and slicked it and the inside of the tube down with some powdered graphite and it ran perfectly yesterday. No more little hitch.

If it's flat then you should be able to mount it with the spacer, T-nut, and screw that come with it in the kit. According to your pics it looks like you can get it done easily with kit that comes with the Matchsaver. It also comes with an alignment guide for an M2 forearm, and that may also work for your Stoeger forearm. If not, eyeball it. Or bring it to a match and I'll mount it. I can't tell how thick the forearm wall is from the pic, but you can get longer or shorter screws for the Matchsaver mount from any Westlake Hardware, and probably even from Lowe's or Home Depot.

Nice, Jared. What is that one made from? And are you mounting it with a screw or velcro? I might give it a try. I have only shot four or five matches, but at least a couple of times I've found myself empty with one more target to go. And then fumbled for what seemed like a long time getting one more round loaded.

I am at work right now but I will try to remember when I get home tonight. It looks alot like the one above but not nearly as pretty. I just went after it with my pocket knife until it held the shell like I wanted it too.
 
Its pex pipe. Ive heard the mantra of " if u dont miss" or "dont run your gun dry" but there are times when elephant dung happens and maybe you graze a steel plate or something and it doesnt fall over. Having that extra round is a match saver...key is to not rely on it.
