It was posted on another forum that I frequently use that there is interest
from OK shooters in the match "goings-on" in the North Texas area.

Here's the landscape for USPSA weekend matches in NTX.

1st Saturday - Johnson County Sport Shooter Assoc (4 stages, 100 rounds, Cleburne TX, just south of Ft Worth)

2nd Saturday - North Texas Practical Shooters (6-7 stages, 150 rounds, Greenville TX)

3rd Saturday - nada (Waco is the closest)

4th Saturday - Double Tap Ranch (6 stages, 150 rounds, Wichita Falls TX) I think Robert Porter is starting to do some 3-gun stuff this year too - best to check with him for specifics.

Before there was a Double Tap Ranch, and North Texas Practical Shooters, a few of us would occasionally drive to OKC to shoot.
Fun time - long day. It's been a few years since I've been to the 1st Saturday USPSA match at the OKC gun club.
Travel companions make the drive worthwhile.
Hope to see a few of y'all in the NTX area at one of our matches sometime.

Outstanding! thanks for the heads up on the Texas matches. A bunch of us shot at the last DTR club match which was pretty awesome. It's great to have so many events within driving distance!

Hey Steve!

Just for everyone's reference, I've been shooting the NTPS match for the last couple of months and it's always been great. There's an awful lot of talent that shows up out there. They're also having matches on the 5th Sundays this year to make up for getting rained out on half the matches last year.

Hi Austin,
Glad to see you out at Greenville last week - thanks again for helping
I'm still in a state of unbelief that the weather held up so well and we were able to have the match!
I think Ken Cobb is cooking up some stages for the 2nd Saturday in February - bound to be another good time.

Rustyzx9,
Not sure if the Greenville (NTPS) match is any closer for you than Wichita Falls,
but we do try to keep it on par with what you'll see at Double Tap and in OKC each month.
Those 3 clubs are 3 really good USPSA shooting options every month.

Thanks for joining us Steve. I am personally going to try to get to some NTX matches this summer.

The north Texas matches are great. There's a lot of good shooting going on down there. He didn't know it, but Steve was kinda my mentor while I was living down there. He's a class act.

Jesse, we got to DTR in around 2 hours and Porter was talking about doing some 3-gun stuff in the near future. Their monthly match has been great the few times I've shot it.

I was thinking Denton would be closer but prolly not.

If they add 3 gun its gonna be tough to make the pistol matches between the ProAm shotgun, rifle at USSA, and 3 gun at okcgc. Man we ate spoiled with our shooting sports. Us younger guys need to all step up and get more involved like Pinto is doing. I think I'll run for Oak Section coordinator this year;)

Are you sure Austin? What's your take on midget albino strippers?

If DTR starts doing a 5th weekend 3-gun it will be hard to choose between that or Old Fort. :D We'll have to spread the ass kicking around a bit.

You guys are always free to chill at my place for the NTPS match. The range is 20 min away.

I think they had the Texas state IDPA there or N Tex sectional IDPA there last year. I really want to check that out this year.
