So what exactly is the accepted protocol for picking up brass at matches? I've seen people follow a couple different systems:

1. Pick up only what you shoot
2. Pick up only the caliber that you shoot
3. GET IT ALL ALL OF IT QUICK

Is there an established system for this? Does it vary from club to club?

I'm interested as well.

I shoot common calibers so I'm not as quick to pick up brass as if I shot .38 super or something like that. I'll wait a little bit and see if anybody else starts picking up brass. If not, I have at it. If I do see somebody else picking up brass and it appears they're only going for the caliber they shoot, I'll usually pick up all I see and then give them the caliber they're picking up or offer to let them pick through what I've picked up. If I see somebody picking up everything, I just let them pick it all up. I keep a decent stash on hand so I'd rather not pick any up than step on any toes.

I usually wait until everyone has shot and started headin to the next stage, and if nobody goes for it then I will.
It would be easier to just buy it from shooters source though.

It really slows things down when you have 6 people picking up brass on one guy resetting the stage.
Please wait for the stage to end to pick up brass (unless it's a unique caliber).
