Making your own steel targets

AR 500 is supposed to handle anything under 3000fps.

I am pretty sure a .50 cal will dent 3/8 AR 500 not penetrate but dent. Where I shoot long range a piece @ 500 & 775 are dented/bent I was told it was from a fifty.
