I earned my first DQ in grand fashion last Friday at Tx Multigun on stage 1, nice and early.
If you watch some of the vids that are posted you'll see a staging/dump barrel right beside the stage gun table. I staged the shotgun in the barrel because we were told to, as I recall, and when I grabbed the shotgun I instinctively took a step forward when racking the bolt and tossing in a couple of shells. That would have been fine except when I finished with the shotgun I turned and dumped back into the barrel which is now about 3 feet behind me. RO yells STOP and I'm done for the match.
So the moral of the story is: don't be stupid and move forward when your game plan is to ground the gun in the same barrel it was staged in.
