Excuse me if this is a retarded question, but can you mail AR 30-round magazines to California? I was giving an Air Force friend a few and he is there.

The California Department of Justice has no jurisdiction in South Carolina.

A person in South Carolina is committing no crime in mailing a 30 round AR-15 magazine to California (or New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, et al.).

My limited understanding of the law is similar to the answer above - it is not illegal for you to send them, it is against the law for him to receive them.

Many companies refuse to ship there, just because they don't want the risk.
