M&P Shield

Has anyone seen these in stock anywhere? If so, what was the price?

both sportsmans warehouse and Academy sell em for $399 . but they dont keep em long . both said they usually sell the day they arrive. Palmetto state armory had a .40 cal shield for $409 on sat. i have the 9mm and love it.

I have a coworker that just has to have a M&P Shield 9mm. What's his best bet of actually getting one? This is apparently the latest in out-of-stock hot new items. Also, you mentioned you have one... What else can you tell me about it, and maybe how it compares to a more available item such as a Taurus 709 or a Sig P290?

I don't have a 9mm shield. Did fondle a .40 shield the other day. Nice trigger. IIRRC the trigger is nice and shorter than most other similar pistol. I've fondled the 709 before and really didn't like the trigger. Very long pull with a longer than expected reset. It doesn't click until it reaches the end of pull. Lot longer then the Kahr.

Bob had some at Upstate Armory Group awhile back. I handled one and liked it but with big hands I chose the M&P 9c instead.
