M and P Upgrade?

If your shooting store bought ammo, you shouldn't "upgrade" your spring. You should only use a reduced power spring with reduced power ammo.
I'm just shooting 124gr hand loads

Me too! I went back to the stock captured spring. Want to buy my Tungsten non-captured guide rod? (PM)

The best spring is the one that runs the gun and gives the best sight picture when the slide goes home.

I've also found it to be completely secondary on a plastic 9mm. On a limited or SS gun with major ammo with the effect is noticeable.

I know with minor power factor ammo, my M&P pro9 would stove pipe with the stock spring.
I had to switch it to a 13lb.
Factory spring weight is 16lbs

We're these T shirt 9mm loads?

JK, the 34 I have will run my 135 PF 124gr 9mm just fine with the stock recoil assembly. And I can't for the life of me tell which one is in the gun by shooting it.

All the 2011's I've had nosedive like hell with a 14 pound spring but 12.5's are good to go. I've never played with an M&P.

Ok, so don't shoot me but I see that a company (Carver Custom) recommends that 11 or 12 lb spring be used in a 135pf 9mm and I'm shooting 139.8 so let's say 140, would a 12 or 13 work?
I think it's stock at 16.
I'm curious because I have found springs for 10 dollars

Springs are cheap. Try a couple and see what works in your gun with your load.
Yea I mean at so cheap I figure why not.
I see 11, 13, 15, 17 and 20lb
I'm thinking 13?

Split the difference in the high and low, and its right where you probably need to start.

The 13 should tell you if you need to go higher or lower.

Well to stir the pot, my 9Pro runs "bunny fart" loads with the stock spring. "Bunny fart" was what Travis Foster at TDSA said they sounded like. I run 147s and 125s, mostly 147s, but the gun just don't give a rip.
