Can you post a pic of just the buckle. Trying to see if buckle is sew in or attached with screw rivits. thanks much.

Sure; these should about cover it. The rivets appear to be what actually hold the buckle to the belt.

Chicago screws. The buckle can be easily removed/exchanged.

Of course you are correct. I wasn't thinking when I said "rivets"; I've used Chicago screws many times over the years for changing buckles, shortening belts, fastening holsters to a gun cart, etc. They make it pretty simple.
