The Silver Fox. I have a friend who used to work for the Wood Bothers. After he retired, David would test cars for them on occasion. One stipulation he had was that there had to be a lighter in the car. He smoked while he drove. My friend used to get me in the garage when I went to races. Cale Yarborough was telling a story one time about one of the scarier moments of his career. He laughed and said Pearson was passing him on the outside in turn 4 at Talladega. He glanced over and David was steering with one hand and lighting a cigarette with the other. lol
