Looking for some help and advice on choosing a rifle scope

I'm a little late on this, but someone once told me " When you need a new scope just figure what magnification you think you need and how much you want to spend. Then open up the Vortex catalog and find the one the matches both."...Looks like it would have worked for this guy.
