Legal carry in vehicle

I normally carry 1 or 2 loaded, hammer back, round in bore, and safety on firearms in my auto .......Been doing it for years...........Never have been stopped or searched yet.....................

What is the exact SC law reguarding this in simple terms please.

or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle..."
There is more about definition of luggage compartment for a vehicle such as a pickup or SUV without a trunk.
Nothing said about locks on glove box or console - just closed.
Under the seat, in door pockets, or on the seat is not permitted.

Oof!!!..................................................Until recently I haven't given it much thought......I carry in the console top with the smaller pistol and in the lower compartment with the big boy......When things look "strange" one or the other is between my legs under my junk...........So far I have not forgotten them and take them in the house when I get home.....I also have a "hidey hole" if I go into a store or doctor appointment.

I would personally not carry a 1911 with the hammer back rattling around loose in a console, just from a common sense safety perspective.

I'd get a pocket holster or even a cheap Uncle Mike's holster and duct tape it to the inside of your center console. It will keep the gun pointed in a safe direction and keep anything from getting inside the trigger guard.
