LAR-47? Atleast I think that's what it's called...

Oh Lord I haven't been on here for a while but anyways, has anyone heard anything good about the LAR-47's (AR-15 that shoots 7.62x39 and uses AK-47 mags)?

The big thing I'm wondering about is the magazine release, I know it's in the trigger guard but I don't know if you push to the side or up on it? My dad is the one that's really looking into it sonce it seems really amazing for an "everything" rifle I guess.

There is another discussion thread on here about the AK47 round in AR type rifles. Kurt Miller gave us a bunch of reasons it doesn't work well which is all I needed to hear based in his expertise on the AR platform. If you want an AK buy an AK.

They only niche they've got is hunting, but 300AAC might be the end of that.

Right well I guess the LAR-47 will be marked off the list then. Due to my dad's injuries he's gonna get a AR-10 since he can't shoot his M1 Garand and 1903 Springfield, but he ain't getting rid of 'em anytime soon!

Next time you and your dad come to the city I have a AR-10 you guys can try out. I use it for hunting and love it!!
