Land use permit?

What are they? I was talking to my friend about doing some backpacking/shooting trips, he mentioned land use permit, I asked if that allows us to shoot, he said he didn't know. I talked to someone else, he made it seem like it was the same thing as a hunting permit. This would be for south east oklahoma.

The land use is a fee charged to use certain public lands in Southeast Oklahoma that the Department of Wildlife charges to use lands that they have leased from the lumber companys down there. If you plan on doing thing beside walking or driving you pretty much have to get the full year permit. They may seem expensive but the money brought in does not even cover the leasing fees the state pays.

Be sure and check the shooting regulations. Some WMA's don't allow plinking. Shooting is only allowed during hunting seasons with a hunting license and appropriate tags.
