For what it is worth I thought I would pass this information along...

I already have my CCW and was looking around the Greenville area for a "ladies only" class for my wife. I came across the following (female) instructor.

http://www.definitedefense.com/about.html

I traded a few emails with her and she seems to have a great background and credentials. She is going to be having a ladies only CCW class around Valentines Day here in Greenville. I have yet to confirm the date with her but my wife will definitely be attending (Happy Valentines Day honey).

Sorry if this is common knowledge. Just trying to help out.

Cheers...

Thanks Midnight Raver.

I spoke with the owner today and she was very nice. Looks like the "ladies only" class is going to be in two parts. Classwork first day in the eveing on 02/07/2013 and range work second day 02/09/2013. She was going to update her website to reflect this. She also mentioned, which I liked to hear, that she simply doesn't lecture for 8 hours and then let you have 30 minutes of range work to pass the test. Shea (the owner) told me the second 4 hour day is at a private outdoor range focusing on actual shooting and handgun skills believe it or not.

Just thought I would update my previous post.

**Please note that I am in no way affiliated with this company** Just trying to find my wife a good CCW class to attend.

Cheers....Mike

I know the owner of Definite Defense. She taught the CWP class that I took through the South Carolina Bar. She taught several and got very good reviews. She has also been featured in the local media.

Lots of people offer CWP classes these days; she is an NRA instructor and offers other courses as well. Not a "one trick pony".

The only time a permit is needed is when you're being frisked by a cop.

Anyway, think of it as "allowed" vs "able". You may not be "allowed" to carry a gun without a "permit" in certain states or places, but you're most likely damn sure "able" to.. that is unless the cops are going around detaining and then frisking people without RAS.

Conceal well and STFU... no permit needed.

I can't live by my advice, as I have multiple permits. There was a time when I carried without one, though. Looking back, I wish I never sold out and got these stinking permits. I guess one could leave the permits at home, and carry sterile, but then you have to worry about the being asked for papers by the gestapo with a possibility of a frisk without RAS:

If you're a stickler for staying "legal" but still hate permits:
-Move to a free state where you can open carry without a permit, legally.
-If your partial to concealed carry, move to VT, AK, AZ, or WY.

Just sayin'.

Here's a good video that probably should have it's own thread... although, I can't stand the guy, because he's a pompous ass, but he makes a few good points:
