When you don't go home for lunch and eat your sandwich on your desk you have a lot of time to spend browsing the web. Came across a post on another forum (BE) about these and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them. They seemed to be highly thought of. Your thoughts? Mike, I am waiting for your input - Thanks All

they are better than stock, but only as far as the rifling; the external barrel fit is exactly the same as the stock barrel; and is not oversized, which is unfortunate

If you have a good barrel in your M&P you can't honestly beat it. And Smith can put out some very good barrels and chambers. On the other hand they can also put out some not so good stuff.

So you need to honestly know what you have. Slug your OEM barrel out. Maybe look at some very basic detail work. And measure around on the chamber. Or use the camber to cast out a chamber plug and inspect it.

I have a lowly 9VE I bought new 2 years ago new that has the very best OEM barrel I've ever seen. It's shallow on the lands and groove but perfect in finish and spec. On the other hand my M&P .45 barrel is not as good but workable.

Both chambers have great support. I shoot some really hot stuff in both pistol's and the brass comes out great!

BUT!!! Just today I ordered a Glock 20 from a site sponsor. I will never shoot one round out of the OEM barrel. NOT ONE! I will get a standard length and 6" barrel from LW to start with. I have seen way to much Glocked Brass be it 9mm, .40, 357, 10mm or .45 acp.

Enjoy your M&P. Mine is always close by.......
