What are ya'lls thoughts on Kel-Tec pistols - I'm not looking for anything fancy - just something cheap to throw in the glove box and carry when I need to. I was looking at the PF9 - its under $300 - seems like a good deal.

Their little 380 is every bit as nice as the Ruger LCP best I can tell. I wouldn't be afraid to buy one for the requirements you gave.

My PF9 doesn't have too many rounds through it, but haven't had any issues with reliability yet. Very positive extraction/ejection: the empties land 15ft + away from the shooter. Not terribly accurate, but quick body shots from 5-10 yds are possible with a little practice.

My father in law carries a pf9 all the time and shoots its at the range about once a month. Might have 400 rounds threw it and no issues as of yet. I have shot it and can say its not the most confertable gun I have ever shot. For a 9mm it kicks like a mule but for the money cant go wrong.

My Dad carries a P3AT. He loves it because it's so easy to carry. He's reasonably accurate with it at close range, and is completely happy with the weapon.

Personally, I think it feels like a toy in your hand, and I'd rather have a root canal than put a few boxes of ammo through that gun. The sights are lousy, and I can barely get two fingers on the grip. I don't carry, and I guess these complaints are common to a lot of carry guns(especially if you're comparing them to full-sized guns).

His did come apart in his pocket at one point, but it was after he had been running a bunch of +p ammo through it that it wasn't rated for. He sent it to Kel-Tec and they fixed him right up.

I had the P11 for a while. Never had any problems with it. Their triggers are long and heavy - seriously. Not a bad attribute for a carry gun but it takes some getting used to. It was a great size, really comfortable to carry and had a 10 round double stack mag. The finishing on the polymer parts from the factory is sometimes a little rough but it doesn't affect the function at all. I had to sand down a rough spot under the trigger guard on mine. I thought it was a pretty good pistol for the price. Worth checking out.

I carry a P3AT daily, as a backup gun or primary depending on tasks, where I'm at, attire, etc. I have it on an ankle holster primarily but also have a belt clip on it. I can wear it while wearing sweat pants or gym shots and it only weighs 11oz fully loaded even with a mag extension. Can't say that about many guns.

I have small hands (that's what she said) and it works OK for me. For anyone with bigger hands, I could see it being hard to hold onto. It aint a big gun at all. I use the Buffalo Bore super hot 380+P gold dot HP loads. It's not quite 9MM power, but it's a juiced up 380! It functions great, even at a $240 retail price I paid for it.

I was looking for a PF9 about a year ago and found a used P11 for a steal used so picked it up instead. The trigger sucked, but it worked OK. It was more "hi point" in feeling and fit and finish than my P3AT or a PF9. I sold it not terribly long after when I picked up my G26. The PF9 is much slimmer, and a better trigger than the P11. I think they are a great option, and I plan on picking one up sometime for a really small and light compact 9MM.

Oh yeah, lol. Are you still in the market for 1?

I will look up the prices for you, from my dealer buddy that I messaged you about.

Do you have a particular model that you want?

I know you didn't ask about it but I carried one of these for a long time and thought it looked a little nicer than the Kel-Tec

I daily carry either an XD subbie or a G19 but have a KT P-11 for a light carry and its been a great little shooter. Has shot anything and everything Ive put thru it without a burp. Higly recommend. I got mine for $260 ITB from Reddog.

I have shot a PF9 and I thought the trigger was pretty good, it felt like a DA revolver to me. I am looking for one but They are like 320 plus at the gunshows and I do not want to pay over 300 so I am holding out for a good deal. I think Buds had them for 260 shipped but I want to inspect before I buy one of these.

They are great guns for the $$. I had the P11, great lil shooter. Picked up the PF9 on a trade and its a nice gun too. It has more felt recoil then the P11, but it is slimmer and lighter weight. Plus they all come with lifetime warranties. I think all of their guns are good to go!!

I love my pf9. It is a GREAT carry weapon. However, if you don't plan on carrying it, why not get a bigger gun with greater capacity? That is what I'd recommend.

I love the KelTecs, Wish I could get more PF-9s... I always have stock on the P-11s and P3ATs... I even have the P-32s... all models for 260.00 out the door!!
