I bought this scaled down Browning 1911 Black Label Compact in .380 and really do love it. As we all know, the .380 is not as powerful as the 9mm or .45, but I really do like it. Can rack the slide easy and it's very accurate. Your FS 9mm sounds like a fun gun too ! Have a great day, Tail Gunner !

Hey Jerre,
Certainly no reason to feel bad about shooting the Browning 380 1911.
I have one too. To be honest though, I think my Dan Wesson Pointman in 9mm is as easy if not easier to rack.
The other good thing about the DW is that it has an all steel frame. Because of the weight, the recoil is also very manageable.
I find the Browning to be a bit "snappy" because of the lightweight frame

Butch, your target looks good !
I generally use the 5 1/2 inch Shoot and See splatter targets (seconds) from Midway when they have them on sale.

Hi Almostgem,
Nice to hear from you and thanks for the information. I know what I'm about to tell you seems like it's impossible, but it's true. I have a really, really, bad back. I've been to 4 back specialist and all of them after looking at my MRI told me the same thing......nothing, surgery or anything else, can help my particular problem and it's just something I'll have to live with. Also, I have 3 vertebra that are "bone to bone" and it pain 24/7. My back is so sensitive to weight that I have to carry light weight guns. And, my back is so sensitive, I can really feel the weight of heavier guns and they cause me more pain. Back before my back problems, I could carry a full size, steel, 1911 with no problem, but I can't now. Have a good day my friend !

Hi Jerre,
Sorry to hear about your back pain. I feel for you and the pain you're in.
I can't say I empathize with you as I've never had a severe back problem, but I certainly sympathize.
I hope in time it gets better.

Hi Almostgem,
Thanks, but the doctor's tell me it'll never get any better. Sadly just worse as time goes on. It hit me all of a sudden to. I hadn't had any problems till one day I played 18 holes of golf, no pain at all, came home, showered, ate supper, and went to bed feeling fine. When I got out of bed the next morning I had to grab the dresser to keep from falling. And, it's been down hill ever since. Believe me, enjoy your health while you got it because it can leave you anytime without any warning. Have a great day my friend.
