Would this require any work on the hammer, or any other mod? Looking for nicer trigger, not really super duper Binford 4000 for improvement over stock trigger. Maybe just the springs would work.

I don't know how the trigger in your Stag is or how good a JP trigger is but I had a Geisselle super 3G trigger installed in my son's PSA rifle last week and took it out to play last weekend. It was so damn sweet that I'll be replacing the RRA in my gun with a Geisselle very soon. The gunsmith said it was the best machined, most perfect drop-in trigger he'd ever installed.

So I didn't answer your question, but recommend going ahead and getting the Binford.

My understanding with the JP on a stock hammer is you cut the hook off of the hammer with a dremel. Mine has the JP hammer installed, so I never cut one. It's definitely not drop-in, but it is my favorite AR trigger. I can't even wrap my head around the Geissele 3 gun triggers.

Chop the back of the hammer, polish the trigger/hammer contact surfaces, and install yellow JP springs. $10 and 20 minutes you're done.

I've tried a couple of the Giesselle in a couple different guns and I'd take a JP hands down. As mentioned, with the JP and the lighter springs, if you don't get his speed hammer, then you need to dremel the hook off of your stock hammer.

Not trying to make a case for one over the other, but curious as to why?
The best way I can describe it is, it felt like a good Glock trigger, whereas a JP feels like a very good 1911 trigger.

I have three lowers with the JP triggers. Ordered the first one without the hammer, polished, blah blah, and it made an improvement.
Later on, bought the entire system from Make Ready, and It was a major improvement over the other because each part of the trigger system is adjustable.
I like my trigger around 3 lbs, as I use my AR's for hunting as well as competition.

Some of the pure competition guns are a lot less I'm sure.

How do you mean?
I question the thought process that decided it was a good idea to put a light double action revolver trigger in a speedy precision rifle. That don't make no sense. Furthermore, I picked one up once and played with it and it hurt my brain. I mean, no one on earth endeavors to put that same sort of trigger in a pistol, shotgun, or any kind of rifle other than a 3 gun rifle. I just don't get it, and I guess I never will understand why people like those things.

My thoughts exactly.
