I'm needing to buy or borrow the proper tool for removing a JP Barrel nut. The regular AR tool that I have isn't quite the right one for this job. Thanks in advance for your help.

what does the nut look like? post a pic please

This is a pretty good look at what I'm working with. The barrel nut has 4 holes in the face and 2 of them seem to be smaller than the other ones seemingly making the thing proprietary. The ar tool I have works on everything else I've got except for this.

I have one I can loan you.
I appreciate that, but it looks like you're in Missouri... might be further than I'm willing to drive for this project. Lol.

I'm pretty sure the mail runs from there to here & back.

I've installed one of these handguards before & don't remember using any tools other than what I already have in the shop. I think I used my barrel wrench that just has 2 pins.

I'm pretty sure that's what I used too. I dont remember there being smaller holes either.

A tool with 2 pins would be prefect... mine has 3 at the moment. Lol. No grinders or arc welders needed for this job, thanks though. Lol. Well, maybe a little grinding.

Let me see if I can find my wrench. I've been using my magpul armorers tool lately.

What a pain in the ass.... turns out that 3 holes are small. After some file work I got the wrench "modified" and the new handguard installed. Big thanks to everyone for all the help.
