cant believe I'm posting in the gen disc area...

I shot a match today in Joplin with several of the usual crew (Carlisle, G Law, Rick417, Ginardi, Yuth, etc)
I left immediately after the match and didnt stick around for teardown (rare for me)
I had taken a nasty spill, and wanted to go dig the gravel out of my shins (different discussion)

Not long after I left, Joplin was slammed by a massive storm and tornadoes. Apparently, lots of damage.
I havent heard from anybody.

I hope yall are all right.

I've been watching channel 6 and the damage to Joplin is awful. St. John hospital got wrecked. Looks like a Walmart took some major damage as well. They are already saying 24 dead. That's likely to rise significantly. Very bad deal.

My girlfriends family lives in Joplin and Carthage. Fortunately they are all ok. Her borther lives on 4th street less than a mile from 7th were the tornado came through...

Hopefully all of the other guys are ok as well...

My boy's mom lives in Carthage and my boys were with her until shortly before this happened, they got home safe just before it happened!!!

We got the match torn down and out of there with just a few minutes to spare. I had about 5 calls from my wife telling me a bad storm was coming. I kind of blew it off because she tends to over react to storms.

I got home and got the car in the garage about 2 minutes before the hail started.

Ginardi and Madole made it OK. Yuth lives north of the damaged area, and I think G Law lives a little south of it. That is assuming that they went home after the match.

There are a couple guys that were at the match that I think live close to the worst hit area. I sure hope everyone is OK.

I guess I need to send out an email to the shooters list.

I'm glad you posted Rick, I was wondering if you guys were off of the range by the time it hit. I have been trying to get in touch with Madole but cel service is about nonexistent. We are without water but do have power back on. I tried to get over to Madoles shop but they wouldn't let me thru so there may be some damage there. Yuth stopped by and he is OK but was going to check his shop farther north.
