JJ Racaza to shoot for Caracal in USPSA Production Division.

JJ Racaza, former Top Shot contestatant, and a consistently top ranked USPSA competitor has decided to throw his hat into the USPSA Production Division. Typiclly a big name shooting in Production would mean shooting a S&W, Glock, or another common major manufacturer pistol but, for JJ, this isn't the case. JJ has decided to shoot for Caracal USA.

This guy is a beast. I wonder how that pistol will hold up to him and his ability to fire a semi-auto seemingly full-auto? Time will tell.

Eeesh. Poor guy.
JJ can prob shoot anything, and Limcat can prob get that gun running.
But dang thats an uphill battle. I hope he's being paid well.

I'm not doubting what Robert is saying. I'm curious as to what he has see or heard. Robert may be the most scholarly guy on here.

It shows promise with that grip profile and low bore... But I fondled them at SHOT, they 'felt' cheap, compared to the Glock/XD/M&P.
The show guns (which have firing pins removed, so maybe its not a fair evaluation) had really 'crunchy' triggers.
The rear sight is also the housing for the firing pin/striker which is just plain weird (maybe not all their guns are like that?)
There isnt a 5" model. Comp Tac, Bladetech, and Triple Crown arent making holsters for them yet, or mag pouches.
They arent on the USPSA Production approved list yet, so you cant use them in matches yet. They are owned by the UAE, which I prefer to not do business with...but maybe they have the money or political clout to get the gun on the list fast (did anyone notice that the XDm5.25 showed up on the approved list right when it was introduced, while the M&P5" languished for a year?)

Hiring JJ is a brilliant move. If he's successful and the gun works it may be a very popular platform...especially since its cheap.
If the United Arabs choose to develop it maybe it'll be the real deal.
I'd love to shoot one (My favorite gun is someone elses gun loaded with someone elses ammo)

Seems like I read a short commentary recently in one of the several gun porn mags I receive. Can't recall exactly which mag or the author, but at the time I thought it interesting that a well known gun writer had some nice things to say about the ergo's, ability to get a high grip, and that in spite of the clunky lines, it looked like it had some promise. Probably something out of the Shot Show, as he had not shot the gun.

JJ could do well with anything that didn't break.

So, wonder how long before Taurus & Caracal log their first big wins????

They have gotten some favorable reviews. Milli Vanilli won a Grammy. ;-)

Taurus will have some wins very quickly since their team member is shooting FOR Taurus, not shooting A Taurus.

Yeah, on Taurus' website they show a pic of Jessie shooting an Open blaster marked 'Taurus'. I sent them an email asking what Taurus model it was, and that I couldnt find it in their catalog...no reply;-)
