I'm not usually that into folding-knives, but I've been looking more into having a simple well-built high-quality folder. I think this is the best thing I've found:

Here it is on DPXgear's site:

Its out in limited edition delivery now over on bladeforums.com and I just signed up to get one of the leftovers if its possible (doubtful - I'm guessing the fanboys have snapped them all up).

Is friggin bad-arse. D2 Tool steel blade made by Lion Steel, Titanium alloy handle, G10 scales and a cool skull attachment/tool to adjust it:

The limited edition one comes with this tool:

This knife just screams bad-ass!

That tool thing is cool - but what does it do?

It keeps away the evil spirits :D

Here's the list of what it does:

Special Mr DP Skull Tool adjustment wrench / multi-tool for adjusting RotoBlock pivot and glass breaker removal tool

Screwdriver
Rope Cutter
Blade/Scraper
Self Defense Tool
Wrench for Clip
PIvot Adjustment Tool
LIfetime Warranty

That is a nice looking knife!! The art in the tooling is pretty awesome too! Wish I could plop down some money for one of those lol.

Very cool knife!!!

I need a good folder for daily carry. Must be under $50 and have a pocket clip. What do you recommend?

CRKT. I carry a CRKT folder (in Flat Dark Earth...lol). It's been a good knife. At $30-40 I don't feel bad about totally beating the crap out of it. It's held up surprisingly well and I've managed to not lose it. I need to order a couple more just because I like them.

Freakin awesome looking knife! I don't blame you one bit for drooling over that one! I'm really hooked on G10 grips. Not slippery when wet or even when they're covered in blood ;-). That tool is pretty badass too. I wonder how you'd carry it...is there a cover for the blade?

Check out the Cold Steel Ti-lite. It's a little bit over $50 but you can find some really good deals on them. The blade is just beautiful and the point on it is killer. My favorite thing about it is the "pocket catch" (I think they call it a quillion). It's made to snap the knife open as you draw it out of your pocket. It still has the traditional thumb stud as well but there are definitely some benefits to a fast, one-handed open. I used mine as a utility/defense knife for several years and never had any problems with the clip or any of the mechanisms and the blade stayed very sharp.

How big do you want it to be (specifically, blade-size)? What blade do you prefer (skinny, fat, combo edge with serrations, plain, etc...)? How much do you use it and for what (utilitarian more than Self-defense, cutting lots of cardboard boxes, electronic stuff and cutting wires, Mcguyvering your way out of a Turkish Prison, etc...)?

Do you care about edge-retention or are you ok with sharpening/polishing (or just putting an edge back on it) every now and then?

What kind of handles do you want (G10, Micarta, wood, metal/plastic)?

And WTF are you only spending $50 on a pocket knife with the cash you've got invested in your optics/guns? :D

I will just be using it for opening packages that contain expensive new scopes and guns.

I sometimes use it to cut wires and other weird shtuff around work. I have no use for self defense knife because somebody would hear me screaming and crying and come to my rescue before I coudl ever get a knife out.

I would love to have a $500 knife but it would get lost instantly. I had a nice knife with a little assisted opening deal and the clip got ripped off right away at work when it got hooked on something. I think a metal or polymer woudl be best but I like cool shtuff so I'm open to anything.

Here are some pics of my current toad stabber. Don't laugh to hard. Its a Gerber.

I've got plenty of cheap knives man - I only spend money on a select few for a specific purpose (like you and your comp guns :D ).

If you just want a cheepie - these are supposed to be cool (though I hate the company for suing RAT Cutlery, I have to admit, these intrigue me even being made in Taiwan - I think its just the Rat name on them, but I really want to know if they're worth the $25):

Here's some generally decent quality folders for around (some slightly over) $50:

:boner

That knife is fugking awesome.

EZ.. when am I gonna meet you?

Hahaha - I'm so Tacti-cool :D

I'll be at Wannamachers show - shoot me a PM on here (or OSA) if you plan on being there and we can meet up. I'm meeting up with NikatKimber and a few other folks while I'm up there.

Hell for that matter, if anyone here's going to be up that way, we can meet up - I enjoy meeting other members of various forums. As soon as I get my strength back (probably Jan, maybe December) I'll start showing up to matches and embarrassing myself.

Go for a little more dough and get a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian. They're about $70.

Well now I gotta get a new knife. I just lost the one above running up 6 flights if stairs or somewhere inbetween at the Sniper match today.:(

I'm a huge rat fan, but I'm disappoined in this offering. I was hoping more for the IZULA folder that seems like it's NEVER gonna come out.

Oh and $50 EDC with a clip? Kershaws end up being my "knife du jour" The 50$ bracket in knives is a HUGE one. ANY of the big name companies have something in that bracket, the key is finding a design you like with the features you want. steel, mechanism, handles, etc.
