Well-Known Fanatic
I have a STI GP6-C
C is for competition.
I got this gun after Thanksgiving 2010.
First, the mags would not latch into place.
STI warranty told me I needed to reduce the height of the polymer foot of the mag.
So I D&A all 3 mags, and found out how hard that material is but reduced the height so the mag would insert high enough too latch into place. That problem is gone.
Second, I start practicing and after 200 rounds I noticed the pin, which is a solid metal pin, in the rear sight was walking out the side of the slide.
I called STI and they told me they were replacing those with roll pins, they mailed me one right away and it was a good fix, again.
Third, NOW, you have to realize Sunday the 20th of Feb, 2011, I experience my AR failing at a rifle match. You might say that would should not have a bearing on the post but for a new guy, going to the next match, Saturday, Feb 26th, 2011 and in the middle of the 3rd stage, in front of God and everyone else, the dang hammer breaks off??????????
Is there a limit on how many problems you have to deal with in a short period of time on a new gun?
I feel sure that STI will make this good.
I am in the process of contacting STI about this, but more down time when I should be getting ready to shoot again.
Is this the SOP, standard operation procedure in the gun world?
If this was a car; 3 more issues and they buy it back.
Any advice, suggestions most welcome.
I have already been told to buy another gun.
I have hi-resolutions if anyone is interested.
