Is it Crazy for your first 3-gun match to be on a saturday then shoot your 2nd the next day? Im kin

great! and thank you everybody for all your help. ill start gathering ammo up and see what i can find in town as far as low recoil slugs and buckshot. im getting pumped for these matches.

just a little update. i think im good to go, except for shotshell caddys. i only have the ap 4x4 and two-4 shot otherwise ill be good on ammo and pouches, except for maybe buckshot if we need it. as far as the tac ops division goes is there a pistol mag length limit? i.e. 140mm or 170mm. So if someone wouldnt mind letting me borrow some shotty caddys, the help would be much appreciated. thanks guys!

Hunter, I've got plenty of caddies and will be happy to bring them to any match I'm at... which is most of them .lol...

Let me know what you need and I'll do what I can to help out.

Sweet! thank you so much. im getting really excited about the match (and a little nervous.) but ive been practicing my weak hand loads, but am no where near where i need to be. speaking of weak hand loads, does "mr. weak hand" attend this match? id like to meet him, he was one of the very first shooters that i followed before i even started shooting matches. he was actually the first competition shooter i ever watched at the 2007 multigun nationals. three more questions and then i think i just need to shutup and shoot the match. will i need chamber safety flags? is a sling required for this match? and do i have to chamber a round after the buzzer goes off in any gun, and or unload a firearm before i transition to another on the same stage? Rusty you should pick me out just fine, ill be the confused one wondering where i am.

140mm for everything. 170mm is for Open only.

Mr. Weak hand runs the OKC Gun club matches so he will definitely be there.

No chamber flags.

No slings typically but I always have one in the bag just in case.

You load your guns as per the stage descriptions. All guns are always in a safe condition. Meaning safety On if it has a round in the chamber or safety optional if the chamber is empty. Sometimes you will start with a loaded chamber and you have to load after the buzzer. If the chamber isnt hot you dont need your safety on. Sometimes you start with the chamber loaded and safety on.

When you ground a firearm it needs to be safe. Safe means empty chamber or hot chamber on safe. Most guys will drop their pistol mag and rack the round out if the chamber on 1911 style pistols because safeties get bumped off easily. Polymer guns like glocks are safe action guns so they can be set down loaded and they are safe.

I always Ground my shotgun and apply the safety. We I do now after the second time I thought I felt it go empty so I just set it down and it still had ammo in it. DQ!!!

For the rifle most of us put the safety on and ground them. The safest route is dropping the mag a d ra king the round out of the chamber. If I have a long distance to traverse to get to the dump position I always dump mag and clear chamber so there is no chance of accidentally knocking the safety off.

Shouldn't need a safety flag, although it would be a good idea to have one eventually.
Bring a sling just in case. So far the ones I've attended at OKCGC haven't required them.
You usually start with the chamber and magazine loaded with the safety on. After shooting or transitioning to the next gun, make sure the safety is on at the very least. Listen to the R.O. for further instructions.

UPDATE: last minute issue. couldnt attain low recoil slugs so if someone will be happy to sell me some at the match it would save my world. other than that, see you guys tomorrow, ill be bringing my game face haha
