IPSC Rifle Match - OKCGC - March 26th

This match was cool and fun. It was practical shooting through and through. Lots of guys, I assume the vast majority if not all, expressed a desire for this kind of match to be a regular occurence. I would support that. Stripper clips do suck, but after finding out the story behind the stripper clip stage, I think that it would have been excellent to slap it on the WSB as an anecdote. We'd have been conversing about it more positively for sure.

It was maybe not as fun as a lot of hosing, but I think there must be some point at which newer guys are turned off by the idea of shooting their whole year's supply of .223 in one match. We that shoot regularly are no longer buying 1000 rounds in bulk in order to last for three years or more.

Matt Rigsby rocked the stripper clip stage. He figured out a way to load them that none of us did. Everyone fumbled the reload except Matt. He won

I used to load all mags with stripper clips back in the before time when matches weren't even on my radar.

Use the table with the base of the bullets as close to the edge as you can while allowing the stripper clip room to clear. Give a good push, then pull the spoon and go.

was he the last shooter on your squad?
Why didn't any of the rest of you do it?

A match with only hosing is as boring as a match with no hosing, best thing is a mix, I think short low round count stages are intense and cool because you pay a lot for small mistakes so you have to really focus.

Michael is the only guy I've ever seen get DQ'd while running a timer. Must be an IPSC thing

Nah, it's a newb not watching where he puts his meat hooks thing. I just bought a CE II, so maybe I'll be better next time. Of course, that's no consolation to Levi who hit the tile and probably had a sub-4 run.

Cost me $200 in bipods and $65 in practice Ammo to win that stage.
Darn good looking run Jesse.
We had the same amount of hits...so there is that for my defense.
But I cannot figure out how you did it 20+ seconds faster than me. Ha!
I think my bet partly improved your view of that stage, I enjoyed it as it looks you did also.
I lost the bet. Darn it!
One of your post had a lot of math in it on hit factor and such which I'm sure has value but I thought all the stages gave all the shooters something they could walk away with.
For me it was that dang stripper clip, never had one in my hand, no worries, but when it came time to do it...well, 50 seconds on the clock seemed like 1/2 hour.
One thing for sure, I have all the confidence I can do it in the future on or off the clock.
Good shooting with ya and thanks for the "shooter juice".
I'll be glad to work off the bet when your car is out of warranty?

first off, I would have DQ-ed Jesse for that 4 round auto burst at the beginning of stage 1.

And dont think I didnt notice how you are trying to call it the state rifle championships, so you can try and get a shaving cream sponsor or something..

thats as cheesy as elderton calling a group of goons on a sunday night with saturday night specials the Oklahoma Snubby Championship
