IPSC Rifle Match - OKCGC - March 26th

Mike do you know what the highest round count is for the stages? Trying to decide how many rifle mag carriers I need to buy. I only use one for 3 gun...

Mandatory magazine changes are only allowed for short courses in IPSC rifle, so you won't need more than one mag holder anyway. I have never seen a mandatory mag change in a rifle match though, because most people hate it when match organizers deviate from the freestyle principle. And it's not legal in L3 matches anyway.

But forcing shooters to do mag changes because of environmental aspects is used frequently, and I think is very cool. Shooting under low apertures that are only possible with 20 round or smaller mags for instance.

The only one so far is on the 300 yard bounce.

Slemmo, quit giving secrets away.. Now everyone will actually go buy 20-rounders.. :) Very few of the new "go fast" generation of 3-gunners actually carry 20-rounders in their bags..

Dang Norwegians... :) LOLOLOL

Thanks for the reminder! I just ordered another set of 20's and the top secret 20 rd couplers and pair of Taran Tactical Base Pads so I can have coupled 20's and coupled 25's.

Gear queer!!!ðŸ'¸ðŸ'¸ðŸ'¸ðŸ'¸

Coupled 25's? Has magpul come out with a new love your fellow man gayness 25 round mag?

Benny Hill actually turned me on...to it. Last year at the Arkansas Section multi gun he wiped out a set of couple 20's. Turns out he's not just Fabio handsome and Chris Rock funny. He's smart too!

I just turn the rifle sideways
I do to unless you have to shoot under a low aperture at 150+ yards, even brokeback prone is a bit unstable at that distance.

Not having a 20rd mag in your bag is like not knowing your sight over bore offset. Totally C class semi pro stuff.
You need a 6-9 inch bipod to pair with your 20 rounders too.

Nice! I forget the division that we are shooting is Open. So used to American 3-gun tactical
Optics.

What different length bipods do you run?

Another question I have about bipods is how do you figured out how tall to set them prior to the stage? I've shot open division in 3-gun a handful of times and it seems pretty tricky to get that bipod set correctly without lying down behind the gun while making adjustments which obviously wouldn't be fast to do once on the clock.

I use the 9-13 Harris most of the time, and then 6-9 and 13-27 for special occasions. I have 3 or 4 bipod studs on my handguard, to put them wherever I want depending on the stage.

And ballers have offset red dots of course......Not to be mistaken for red dots mounted on top of the main optic, which in case will make you look like a complete idiot.
