Image of women and guns

That pic was the opposite of what I expected. Seems that 9 times out of 10, if I see a pic of a girl shooting, she's stretched WAY back, for some unknown reason.

Just keep shooting and getting better, ignore the other crap.

There's not a lot better in this world than outdoing jerks after them telling you you're doing it wrong, and then not caring about what said jerks think of you when you're ahead of them. This works in just about any skill based activity you can think of.

If it makes you feel any better those people don't like my open gun either, they think it shoots itself or something.

In our culture, guns aren't For Girls.

And let's be honest, the broader gun enthusiast community isn't exactly full of people with enlightened views on gender relations.

Sorry I just read this so right now I'm pissed at the way my team treats women who venture into Man Places.
Yeah, cyberbullying is awful. I was involved in the termination of an employee 6 months ago and a week later a facebook page under a false name appeared that was made only to slander me. It accused me of horrible things, none of which were true, in an attempt to get me fired, divorced, and ruin my reputation. They sent friend requests to 200 nurses, doctors, and paramedics that I work with so that they would all read it. It was horrible and there was no way to prove who had done it, even though everyone knew. They failed, because I am still employed and still married, but it was awful to go through. These pics were a little disturbing as well:

Yet I was told nothing could be done since no one could prove who started the page. The internet is a hiding place for cowards to lash out from behind a keyboard. But it can also be a great way to gain knowledge and meet a few friends.

Jennifer, women are lights out shooters! My wife had to pass a shooting test before we could get married.......someone has to cover me while I reload, right!?.........Of course I am a little odd, when I looked at the pic the first thing that went through my head was, "Hey, that's not the proper benchrest shooting position".

One of the cops that works with me always said chicks can't shoot. One of my coworkers finally told him to challenge me so he did. We went to the range and I beat him like 164 to 147! He got mad and said it was the difference in our guns, so we repeated the challenge both using his gun and I beat him again. You could have cut the silence with a knife! :triniti:
Some of the most successful snipers in history have been women.

You talking about arching their back backwards? I told my daughter "lean into it, not away from it" and she said she had to because the weight of the gun. She weighs about 100lbs in winter clothes, soaking wet. I really really want to get her into a class...

Some guys are just mean or ignorant .. Could be the way they were raised.
Women in auto parts stores!
Yep and i find that they usually know more than the guys there..
My wife shoots better than my guy friends do. She never flinches..
She raced my old nova at Thunder Valley and her reaction time was in the .00? range.
And she would always 60 foot better than i could.

I have no issues with any of it.

Well my husband just told me today that women get more than men by being a woman. He said that no one offers to let him shoot their guns at the range (and I get offers all the time to shoot other's guns). He said I got pointers and free instruction because I'm a woman. He said I got to buy .22 LR ammo out the door (that they would not sell to anyone else) because I'm a woman. Maybe he's right. But I think part of it is that I have no problem asking intelligent questions, I show interest in other people's guns, and I am a good customer in the store that let me buy .22 LR out the door. I've always been like that. He would never ask someone else about their gun (I embarrass him often when I talk to people we don't know). I seek out opportunities. Just like this forum, I never lurked, I jumped in and started asking questions. And you guys have given me lots of information and answers and even more laughs! LOL

intelligent women are always more interesting than dumbasses. But dumbass train wrecks are fun to watch. And now I'm wondering if I need to take the hotter than donut grease girlfriend to buy a brick of .22 LR?
I gotta admit I agree that dumbass train wrecks are fun to watch, no matter what their gender. And give it a try, maybe the hotter than donut grease girlfriend can score you some .22 LR! Lol

This may be slightly off topic, but my sister has had this POS Davis derringer in .22LR for 30 years as her SD weapon. No matter what I said, it was OK in her opinion.

A month ago, when she was home from OKC I took her to my little berm in the back yard and let her shoot a selection of pistols.

I think I've unleashed a monster. :o

In that month since she was here, she has bought an M&P 9c in 9mm, from our sponsor Sooner state Pawn, and tonight bought a tangfolio from the same store in .380. Its hard to beat their prices.

Has already signed up for a CC class, and will be home this weekend with a friend of hers that is signed up for the same CC class for some serious range time to become familiar with the platforms. (She used to hunt with me using shotguns, so is not a newb to firearms).

Her friend (female) has never had a gun in her hand, so Its going to be a weekend of fun. Looking forward to it.
